A good team combines complementary types and useful moves. A high IV rank alone does not tell you how well a Pokémon will perform in battle.
Start with the league
- Great League: Pokémon must be at or below 1,500 CP.
- Ultra League: Pokémon must be at or below 2,500 CP.
- Master League: no CP cap in the standard format.
Special cups and seasonal formats can add eligibility rules. Always check the in-game rules before investing.
Look at the whole team
Choose a lead, a possible switch and a closer. Check whether all three share a weakness, and make sure your fast and charged moves offer useful coverage. A second charged move adds flexibility but costs resources.
Use IV rank thoughtfully
Our tool checks every IV spread allowed by your selected IV floor, finds the highest half-level under the league’s CP cap, and ranks Attack × Defense × HP. It evaluates one species at a time; it is not a battle simulation or a ranking across species. Tied stat products share a rank.
The level cap can be 40, 50 or 51. Level 51 assumes an active Best Buddy boost; only one buddy can receive that boost at a time.
